I hope you can see the coin's detail. Each time I convert a photo to web size, I loose the detail.

To me it does look it could be one of the 70000 which were struck with polished dies for sale in New York.

The flash is the problem. The polished dies ones have mirror fields which look like those on the 1951 Crowns.

It's cupronickel almost definately, to me. It's still a nice coni to own I think. Weirdly enough, I have a halfcrown date run but still don't have that coin in my per type collection. :)
