I've heard that Numistrust has a tendancy to grade coins higher than they deserve. So, is this really MS 65? Really FBL? What do you think?

Thanks,

I would grade it MS63, numerous small ticks on the bust and some heavy bag marks on the reverse limit it. It may have FBL, I just cannot see it quite clearly enough because of the lighting. My impression is that the bell lines are strong and I do not see any hits that would immediately disqualify.

Yea, there's a reason their name is so accurate:

I think what biokemist6 said makes a lot of sense. I think there are too many marks on the obverse in a primary grading area to be a 65, (the cheek in particular). The reverse is sketchy also. You can't read the "PASS AND STOW
MDCCLIII" or even get an Idea of what is written. The Bell lines are on track though. Only questionable part of the lines is the right side, but it look like a 1/16th of an inch. Are the marks on the coin or the slab? It's great for you that it was graded that high, but most will grade the coin not the holder. a 65F is worth around 400 smackers I think.

I have one coin from the New-mis-trust company and will never get another one. Mine is slabbed as a MS66 and it's obviously been cleaned. It's not even close to a 66.

As for yours, I'd put it at a 63 tops and as for the bell lines, it's hard to tell based on the photo.
