Anyone ever piece together a JFK set from circulated coins? I've been collecting this set (have 2 currently going), but they are all uncirculated or proof coins.

I have a bunch of JFK circulated coins lying around, and was thinking about putting them into a non-proof set.

How hard is it to get JFK halves from your bank these days?

(nothing like having too many rods in the fire at once, huh?)

If you have not already, check out the monster JFK Half Dollar Roll Hunters: Silver, proofs and other finds thread. There is a lot of good information buried in there amongst the finds.

Yeah, I put together a full business strike set from roll finds. All AU and the only one I had to go buy was the 1970D.

Mostly it is, with people posting their finds.

But you will see that people also talk about filling holes in their collections, while other people will ask questions about the half dollars as a series.

For some reason I have been inclined to only collect proof or BU JFK's. I just like them nice, I guess. However, even a circulated set would be sweet so I think you should do it! Order halves at the bank. GL

I put together a set back when I started roll hunting them about 2 years ago. It took me less than 2 months to complete, gained the 70D after about 6 months, (at a tiny bank inside Walmart, the only half they had).
