Received lot of 7-8 japanese coins, other (copper-nickel and bronze) looks OK, what do you think about this pair silver coins - weight is normal, test show solid silver. Whether are original?

The 20 Sen from 1900 (year 33) looks correct as far as die style and strike characteristics. You should check the edge to be certain the reeding is correct. The grade is rather high and therefore I am suspicious because high grades of this date are rare. However, given what I see here - there is nothing that says forgery.

What tests were done?

The 20 Sen from 1870 (year 3) deep scales is a bit more suspicious. The coin has a very wide rim - in my opinion, perhaps too wide. I appraised a collection of high grade original Japanese Silver minors last year and while the 20 Sen has a wide edge margin, this one looks too wide. The dies here do not seem to match the collar diameter used in the press - hence the gap you photo enlarged. I think you need to look closely at this coin's rim. Do the reeds look correct?

Also if possible could you post a larger picture of the central circle. There is a "dent" that I would like to see enlarged.

Perhaps I am being overly suspicious and I am aware this is a coin under 25 mm in diameter so details are not as fine as on larger dies but some of the letters look rough.

Thanks for reply,
I am silver dealer and I have special solution for silver test (from 500 to 1000 silver approx).
There are additional pics on the second coin, it is between 5.0 and 5.1 grams on my scales. What do you think.

So the tissue test would work on this one for sure.
It looks to good to be forged IMHO.

I think they look real. That said I hope the test (which should never be used on collectible coins in my opinion) did not do too much damage to the surface.

The edge looks fine and I see none of the normal indications of forgery.

Both coins are far from bullion value and should be encapsulated to produce maximum value.
