This coin really looks strange. Besides being corroded, it has two globs of copper on the reverse and one larte one on the obverse. Both sides look as if someone has tried to file them off. Any ideas?

I will take a guess and say that it spent some time in the ground. Some form of contaminant fused to it during the corrosion process.
