Pulling out my Red Book and doing a couple of ebay searches my completely uniformed and uneducated opinion... not worth it if you were looking to make a profit but as an I got to have it for ones self then yes. The two dollar set and the gold cert are the ones I would really want out of that lot.

Just my own observation I say 600 is taking you for quite a ride. The notes are certainly great specimens but their condition really hurts the value.
If you really like them then it is your money but I would strongly suggest to poke around a show or even the bay. I would bet you could assemble a much higher grade set of those same notes for half that price. It all depends on your time, availability and access to the market place though.
Please no insult but I strongly suggest to hear more opinions before falling in love with that set at that price. Just my opinion.

You seem to really know alot about this topic. I just started an interest in U.S. coins and currency and am falling in love with it quite quickly.
How can I find coin/currency shows in my area? Which is Minnesota.
Thanks for the tips.

My wife who collects US currency says a more reasonable price would be in the $250-$300 range for all that. It is more that I would spend for sure.

The first 9 are worth about $125 but the 1928 $10 Gold Cert is the gem of the lot. However, it makes a big difference whether it is XF or AU, CDN Greensheet has XF bid @$180 and AU bid @$275.

In addition to what others have added - There is "something special" about the $ 2 set as only 2,000 were sold. What is the serial number on the set you have? Further some of these sets were broken up and "individual notes" were sold by dealers. Ergo, not many are still intact and this $2 set MAY end up saving the day along with the "gold Cert". Current price on the $2 set depending on the SN is $250 and upwards. Best to you and welcome. Peace

This link below if allowed by staff shows this dealer wanting $695 for SN 902. Even if you give it a 50% haircut you are close $350 for your set alone and bio has given you a price of 180 for the gold cert in XF so your are at $530. (list your notes in separate pics as it would be easier to judge the notes individually specially the gold cert and the clean $1) http://usrarecurrency.com/$2Premium...erveSets.htmStar notes higher than SN 2000 in CU (crisp Un circulated) are retailing for $35 per note for the 2003 series. 35X12 = $420 and around $350 for the complete set without matching SN's. I think I think the BEP sold SN 2,001 to 16,000 as "individual" notes separately for those who could not afford the complete set such as the one you have. Whatever you do DO NOT break this set up. Just search on the net you will see who has what for sale -"$2 2003 Premium Federal Reserve Set" Peace

I agree with Tim and think 300 bux is most I'd put on it.
The modern stuff is too volitile, the bulk of the lot is lower grade as well as common. The gold note is where you are hanging your hat in this deal, and that's likely less than 200 bux bid. Most of that stuff can be had for little over face. The funnyback would factor in nicely if it was in better shape. Without condition though, that and the Hawaii are only novelty in this lot, IMO.

You folks are underestimating the BEP set (jmo). And if anyone here can get me one for $200 I am in.
Peace
