Look at this... This coin is officially listed as a Thaler, but the denomination given is 27.6, which stands for 27 schilling 6 pfennig. There were 12 pfennigs on a schilling, to it can also be read as 27½. Most unusual. I have never seen this before, and leapt on the opportunity to add to my collection. I have the following rules for my collection - the denomination must be readable on the coin. It is not enough that is is known to be a 1/112 Thaler if what you can actually see is the number "III". Given this condition, I have managed to acquire the following: 1 1 1/4 1 ½ 2 2,5 2,8 (commemorative) 3 4 4,5 (in letters only) 5 6 7 7,5 (also 7 (Roubles) 50 (Kopecs)) 8 10 12 12 ½ 14 15 16 18 20 24 25 27.6 (27 ½) 30 36 40 50 60 100 120 175 (commemorative) 200 250 300 400 500 960 1000 2000 5000 7000 (commemorative) 20000 50000 100000 200000 (commemorative) 250000 750000 2/3 1/2 5/10 1/3 1/4 1/5 1/6 1/8 1/9 1/10 1/12 1/15 1/16 1/24 1/26 1/32 1/40 1/48 1/80 1/96 5-1/32 (6 pieces of the coin was worth 1/32 of a Guilder (Netherlands East Indies), so in other words a 1/192. 5 is just a typo and suggests 1/160! The coin was used despite the typo due to shortage of coins) 70 different ones in total, 66 if we disregard the commemoratives. My long term goal is 100. Edited by Litotes 07/04/2010 04:23 am

Nice collection.
I have a 6000 Baht coin from Thailand. It is supposed to be gold but there seem to be problems with it. I will post details soon.

Very interesting collecting theme! You may find some additions with the Turkish commemorative before the monetary reform.

It's a neat idea for a collection. I see you're missing 1/13. Jersey 1/13 shilling shouldn't be a problem to acquire. Also, Prussian 1, 2, and 3 pfennig bear the denominations of 1/360, 1/180, and 1/120 thaler respectively on the other side.
