I picked both of these up at a rummage sale for $70. They are both in equal condition, good perhaps very good. Can anyone honestly tell me what there worth may be?

We would need to know the condition and authenticity before we could suggest a possible value. If you could provide good clear photos we can get in the ballpark.

PS, if your 1871CC Trade dollar looks similar to this one...

Then it is definitely a fake since they did not start to make these until 1873.

NOD2003-You are correct. The 1871 is a fake. How do I determine the authenticity of the 1795?

The 1795 is rare, so chances are it's fake. Here is a genuine one. Se if you can spot any differences.

Welcome to Coin Community, ruggedbadger. It's very unlikely that the 1795 is real. Consider it was paired with an obvious fake, and that the minimum price of admission to a "real" 1795 is about $1000 (and for that you're going to get a heavily damaged one), and you'll see the cause for my worry. A VG 1795 is worth north of $2000 at any venue.
Rest in Peace

Well ya may not have had much luck with these coins but everyone has a learning experience or two to get through along the way, so hey you got yours out of the way now.
