Can anyone tell me if the large serial number $20 bills have any additional value. I have saved quite a few due to a remark made months ago but I am confused as to their real value. If there is nothing else remarkable for the bill, is it just worth the face value. I would really appreciate being set straight on this one.

What is the s/n? What condition is it in? What is the date?

Gent, IF you are referring to the SOI 20's then check Derek's site. This is the same place, most if not all do their star look up's.
http://www.uspapermoney.info/general/soi.html

Although, I am NOT saving these from what I gather some are saving / trying to collect notes from each run and block combo. NO ONE knows for sure what if any outcome there will be.

Also, Siuol has done a lot of research into this topic and does collect them.

Peace

To answer John, the notes are AU to Unc and are all within the past 8 years. The numbers are 2 and 3 digit. Again there is nothing special other than the fact that the S/N is of the large variety. No stars, bookends, etc.

Celon, I will check the numbers against the info in the URL that you sent.Thanks.

I just don't want to sit on several hundred dollars that I could put into items that I would like to add.Thank you all for the input.

Gent,
Sounds like you have more than the SOI's based on your post. This is what I would do and just my 2 cents.

On the website link search the 20's by series year. Hang on to as many as the old design (black and white) 20's closer to the "last run" and be picky about what you save meaning keep the ones with the lowest amount printed per fed district and also see if you can get a "district set" put together (all 12). The other option here is if you do not have the district set, take the extras and trade for the ones you are missing.

On the colorized 20's - You may want to do the above and or stash some of the SOI's.

Once you decide on what you are keeping AND IF you have any old style (B&W big heads) left over, let me know as I would be interested in a few (unc's only) and we can work something out (trade).

Peace
