So I went to physical therapy today and stopped by a couple of banks and picked up $92.50 in customer rolled halves. This is what I found. First silver of the year after a 7 1/2 month dry spell.

The ugliest proof I have ever seen

Then I went over to the wife's hardware store to hang out a while and spied some rolls of change in the register. Nothing in the Nics, Dimes, or Quarters so I went for the two rolls of cents last. Nothing of interest in the first one but got this little fellow out of the second one.

Also picked up a box of cents last Friday, first one this year. Found about 35-40% copper which I do not keep and 11 wheat cents. What, no Canadian cents? Nope, not a one.

Nice finds. I always find it odd to see proofs in circulation. Always tells a tale of either abuse, hard times, or theft.

Yeah, by the looks of the scars on the side of John's head I would say this guy has had a rough ten years. I was told once that proofs that do not pass inspection are sent to the Denver mint to be mixed in with the business strikes because it is cheaper to do that than to destroy and recycle them. I do not think that is true but who knows. By the way this is a silver proof.
