If you read some of his listings he states:

Quote:
PROOF SET THIS IS WITH A BRIGHT MIRROR LIKE FINISH ANY YELLOW COLOR IN THE PICTURES IS REALLY GOLDEN HANDLED ONLY WITH GLOVES THERE ARE NO CHEMICALS ON THIS COIN WHAT SO EVER. AN WAS HEAT TONED.

I think I see him making a new batch right now....

I thought it might be this guy , but his coins are naturally heat toned because of where he stores them....

Quite the doctor! While I really like nicely toned coins, I am not particularly fond of treated, whether it by chemicals or heat.

OK, so I'll be the naive one....the are some folks that specialize in toned coins. I'm not defending him or anyone that artificially tones a coin. Matter of fact I don't like the toning and would never buy one. No "old" coin I ever found was toned this way but I have seen silver submerged in salt water and conserved similarly toned.

Every single coin that seller is offering is artificially toned(AT) with the possible exception of the 1974 Proof Set(I have seen sets with a golden tone before) but it is still suspect based on who is selling it. The color patterns and combinations do not occur naturally and I suspect the contrast of the images has been juiced as well. That entire inventory is just damaged altered junk and anyone buying it is wasting their money

There's an old saying that goes

"What's the difference between a rifle and a pistol? Five minutes and a hacksaw."

"What's the difference between an untoned coin and a toned coin? Five seconds and a butane torch."

Nuff said.

I clicked the link and couldn't find any "GORGEOUS RAINBOW TONED" coins anywhere! blech!

"What's the difference between an untoned coin and a toned coin? Five seconds and a butane torch."

Or from the other side, "What's the difference between a toned coin and an untoned coin? Five seconds in a dip-n-strip."
