Recently I came across an ad for $20 New Orleans unissued Canal Bank Notes in mint condition dated 1850 for $29.95 and I was wondering if it was a good value and if it would have been more valuable if it was an issued note.

I've seen the Canal notes that you describe for $5 each gent. They are very, very common.
