It looks like a lithuanian coin but I cannot find it in the Standard Catalog.

Do you know what it is?

Looks like 1565 to me. The obverse legend says "Car . R(EX?)". I'd try to check out Carls of those times.

I don't think it is 1565. I have a similar coin with the date 166? : http://chez.com/saturnmax/P7122179.jpg

Yes, this one looks like 1664(?), but it doesn't mean that the design wouldn't be similar about a century ago. In fact, at those times the designs of coins tended to stay almost the same from monarch to monarch.

Poland, Johann Casimir, Solidus. Looks like KM#110, dates listed are 1659-1661 in the 4th edition KM, but 1659-1667 in the 2nd edition. This one looks like 1665.

It does look like a good match, though it bothers me that 1665 (which still looks like 1565 to me) is not listed in the catalog. If it was listed in a prior edition but was removed later there should be a reason for that. It could have been moved to a certain possession of the Poles.

And, I guess, CAR. in the legend stands for the title rather than the name. The name, IOAN, is to the left of the effigy on KM#110. I can't say whether it is IOAN on baron's coin or a version of Sigizmund () which would be consistent with 1565.

This is the best '65 I've found online:

In my experience the older catalogs are much more likely to be correct than the new ones.

Obv: IOAN CAS REX
Rev: SOLID REG POLO 1665

I keep my older Krause catalogs just for that reason. I run into a lot of stuff not in the current catalogs that IS in the older ones. I also find them useful for images and varieties that are no longer in the books in order to save space. (I have an almost full set of the Krause catalogs all the way back to the first edition in 1972.)

I wonder why they removed the coin from the Krause though. In my 2009 edition, the solidus coin goes only until 1661.
