Yes, that proof coin is definitely a Cameo(CAM) and maybe even Deep Cameo(DCAM). Almost all proof since the 1970s will be CAM or DCAM whereas most of the proofs from the 60s and earlier were brilliant with CAM or DCAM coins carrying a premium. CAM/DCAM is a qualitative measurement of the difference in contrast between the fields and devices, the devices should appear to be white on black fields.

The coin is certainly cameo, and most likely Deep Cameo. I agree with Biokemist.

this appears to be an 1881-S? if so you should check for the type 1 or type 2 "S" mint mark, one is quite valuable...
