Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting a picture so I hope it happens. The pics are not very good my camera and I are not good friends and it does not help that this is not a good area for my knowledge.
Can I get opinions on this coin please? It is a 1983 and I'm pretty sure it's struck thru twice. The image of the edges of 2 coins and the D mint mark also shows. This makes me think it is PMD. There is a "dip" in the middle of the coin that causes it to not lay flat.
I got this in a find I got from the bank yesterday. I bought 20.00 in customer-wrapped rolls and they were all copper from 1959 thru 1981, they were all in the older red penny rollers and were full of dust and cobwebs.
Thank you, Cindy.

Lots of people get their kicks out of sandwiching coins together then vising or hammering the coins to transfer the images on to eachother.

If you are under the assumption that the back of the head of Lincoln is showing on the right half of the reverse, it is not struck through. The back of the head would appear on the right, but the top of the head would be near "ONE CENT", not "USA."

Something interesting to consider. On an off-center coin does the edge of the die leave a ring or rim on the edge of the die?

On these we note the edge of the die doesn't make are incuse mark on the planchet.

But if you take another coin and press it on a second coin, you will see the rim of the coin make a deep circle on the coin. The rim is higher and this makes the deeper mark OVER the taller devices when smashed with a vise or with a hammer with two coins between two pieces of wood.

Thank you everyone. If I'd have looked closer and with a little more patience I'd have caught the biggest give away on the coin. It was minted in Philidelphia but in the center of Lincoln is a "D" mint mark that was transfered onto him..........uhduh. Some days the body gets out of bed but the mind has pulled the sheets back up. Sorry about posting something so stupid. But I do have tons of beautiful toned Lincolns I will post in a few days. Again, thanks to everyone.
