Is anyone out there buying or selling junk silver? I've been looking at junk silver lots for sale on ebay and they all seem to be selling at a 10% to 12% premium over melt. Is that the standard?

I have been find it locally or through smaller auction/classified ad sites for 60%-70% of spot. If you want junk silver bargains, search long and hard and you will find it.

Mike, I've had no luck buying locally and I'm offering 12X.
I've found that the general publick will trust a local, established dealer paying 10X, before they will sell to a stranger.
ebay is crazy. Even when spot on silver drops to say, $17, silver still sells at 14-15X. I've been watching for 3 years, and have made a couple good buys near spot. They don't come up very often though.
I've also been watching local ads. Collectors are offering 12-13X around here. If someone is looking to sell, the item is often way over-priced. Like someone else on here suggested, just look hard.

I picked up 40 SLQ's on the bay for $114 a couple of weeks ago, but it isn't very often those lots go for under $130. I was kinda shocked I won it. Nothing special in the lot, just junk, but still......

Craigslist, pawn shops, antique stores, etc.......it takes some searching, but there are deals out there.

I went out to sell come of my wife's old gold and was shocked. Who's offering 10x, most I've seen here in Hampton Rodes are only offering 8x and that included Gold Coins. Needless to say, I didn't take their offer.
