Based on the pattern of the die cracks, I believe mine may have been the last 1974 aluminum ever struck. Very exciting I've got letters out to the Smithsonian to see if we can arrange a "coin swap".

OMG GUYS! I like totally found this authentic GOLD KENNEDY at the grocery store today. Fer realz yo! What do you think the grade is? Should I have it sent off to China for grading? My Uncle Mervin tells me that is where all the best coins come from!

That Gold Kennedy is gorgeous. It is an extremely weak strike but shows no signs of wear whatsoever. SGS MS-68 *

I should probably edit the title of this thread to include a warning... "Put the glass down, swallow, and take a deep breath before reading!" Especially for the last two pages.

Yes mine is a double die. It was not obvious from the initial photo but in this blowup you can clearly see it. I'm 100% certain that this is DD and not MD. You can clearly see the two 1974's are at the same level, well offset, and edges are nice and rounded.

Pretty certain mine is ms67. It would make 68 if not for the weak strike on lincoln. Full luster confirms there is no wear.

in 1974, some test pennies were made out of aluminum, the idea was rejected and all of the pennies made were destroyed except a few

STEEL? OH, NO! And I've been saving them because I thought they were all Platinum.
