Would appreciate any advice on uploading pictures with less than 90KB of data. Most of the pictures I've taken are jpeg files in the range of over 500KB or more. Please advise and thanks for any comments. Also, are most of the photos shown on the forum taken "through" a microscope?

you just need to resize the pictures use GIMP or Irfanview both are free
super easy to use...I take my pics at 2200 X 1700 then resize them to be under 1K (usually around 640 or 800) the programs tell you how big they are after resizing...

Some where else there was a post stating that most people resize ther pics to small, and that this person use 1000 mega pixels to get better results. I have always tried to stay under 500 each side but tried the 1000 and it takes forever to upload to photobuket, etc. any tricks to faster uploading?

The best way I have found is to use "save for web' in Photoshop. This not only allows you to resize but to adjust the amount of JPEG compression to get the best fit.

There must be some shareware out there that does the same thing.

Use Photobucket and there is no size limit. No, most photos here aren't taken used with a microscope, these weren't.

Tons of thanks to all who replied to my question. I'll check out photobucket and see what I can find or do with it. My biggest problem was an "IT" bypass that occurred at a very early age. Left me with practically no IT skills at all especially when it comes to computers. YIKES!
