Hi,
I need help from the experts.
There are two things I don't quite get with this coin, first the letters 'dissapearing' into the rim and second, there are traces of an inner circle, can someone tell me what's going on?

The inner circle line is from a wrapping machine. There is evidence of heavy die wear/flow. The devices are weak because of this die flow. But I wonder if a weak strike is present. The area next to the rim is very weak. What does the reverse look like?

The reverse looks quite normal except for maybe 'United' and 'of'. I'm posting some pictures.

Looks like it could be a weak strike. Both sides show the same weakness on the rim area. I would keep it.

Nickels of this era have an unusually convex die face, especially at the margins. If a strike is even slightly weak, coin metal will not rise high enough to fill the rim gutter of the die. I suspect that's what happened here. It's a very common effect.

I've decided I'm keeping my nickel. I like the way the letters sort of disappear into the rim.
