I pulled one out of the cup holder in my car that looked like a waning moon. If I can find it in the piggy bank I'll snap a photo.

I like how your has little holes spread out. Like bullet holes.

Coins like that are leeching away every day on the beaches. I metal detect and find them all the time, I put then back in circulation when paying sales tax. The government needs to stop making cent with zinc, but then they complain about the cost of making Cent and Nickels. If they go to a new Cent, they are thinking of steel and they will probably rust .Check out these coins --http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,251358.0.html

Why did the mint not make pennies out of high silicon aluminum alloy or injection moulded plastic? They would have been much lighter, and have a longer circulation life. Incidentally, many countries have plastic sheet (mylar) banknotes that have about five times the circulating life of a paper banknote.
