Ok this bites....I have been collecting PL sets for quite some time and I have all since 1957....except so far for this year....they have changed the package to some horrible garish cardboard thingy that won't fit in any holders

there I feel better already getting that off my chest :)

I don't understand the point of changing the package of a set that goes on for over 50 years? Broke the pattern of a collection...worst thing to do.

Same thing happen with the silver maple leaf series, they produce the bullion in sealed Mylar pouch with the RCM logo, than one year no sealed bullion... than year after sealed bullion again... It make me so mad ! Why broke a collection pattern?

I can't understand the point for this...and I already talked about it in another post. I'm happy that other collector agree that the packaging of a set should always be the same until collection end.

Yup, very frustrating.

MANY collectors have complained to the Mint and the Mint authorities will have to react positively and reissue the 2010 in the classic packaging. Some do like the new packaging, but the vast majority do not.

We'll see.

Could be the RCMs way of selling double sets?

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. Marketing tactic perhaps?
