OK kids! I showed you how to play, now come exercise your brain a little! This will be a straight forward game - no twists, secrets, or powerballs. Just pick 7 currencies in the right order based on the clues given. Time frame on guesses to me so far seem to be the hardest thing to get down. I'm going to use the 12-12 rule this time and see how that works out. That gives everyone 2 guesses per day and should work to everyone's schedule. *************** EDIT: SNIPER RULE *************************************************************** YOU MUST HAVE POSTED AT LEAST ONE GUESS EVERY 24 HOURS THAT THE CONTEST RUNS IN ORDER TO WIN. IN OTHER WORDS, YOU CAN'T JUST SIT THERE AND USE EVERYBODY'S CLUES AND THEN MAKE YOUR FIRST GUESS OF THE GAME TO SOLVE THE PUZZLE.
So, everyone that posts a guess within the first 24 hours will be our contestant list - no newcomers after that. If you fail to post a guess in the second 24 hours (and the game is still running), you will be removed as a contestant and can no longer play. ********************************************************************************************************As usual you have a "final answer" option. I have already selected the winning combination, so anytime after noon (EST) on Monday, you may begin posting guesses. Now I just have to figure out the prize. Here is the list we will use: AED United Arab Emirates, Dirhams ANG Netherlands Antilles, Guilders (also called Florins) ARS Argentina, Pesos AUD Australia, Dollars BDT Bangladesh, Taka BMD Bermuda, Dollars BOB Bolivia, Bolivianos BRL Brazil, Brazil Real BSD Bahamas, Dollars BWP Botswana, Pulas CAD Canada, Dollars CHF Switzerland, Francs CLP Chile, Pesos CNY China, Yuan Renminbi COP Colombia, Pesos CRC Costa Rica, Colones CUP Cuba, Pesos CZK Czech Republic, Koruny DJF Djibouti, Francs DKK Denmark, Kroner DOP Dominican Republic, Pesos EGP Egypt, Pounds ETB Ethiopia, Birr EUR Euro Member Countries, Euro FJD Fiji, Dollars GBP United Kingdom, Pounds GIP Gibraltar, Pounds GTQ Guatemala, Quetzales HKD Hong Kong, Dollars HNL Honduras, Lempiras HTG Haiti, Gourdes HUF Hungary, Forint IDR Indonesia, Rupiahs ILS Israel, New Shekels INR India, Rupees IQD Iraq, Dinars IRR Iran, Rials ISK Iceland, Kronur JMD Jamaica, Dollars JPY Japan, Yen KES Kenya, Shillings KWD Kuwait, Dinars KYD Cayman Islands, Dollars LKR Sri Lanka, Rupees LYD Libya, Dinars MGA Madagascar, Ariary MNT Mongolia, Tugriks MVR Maldives (Maldive Islands), Rufiyaa MXN Mexico, Pesos NGN Nigeria, Nairas NIO Nicaragua, Cordobas NOK Norway, Krone NZD New Zealand, Dollars PAB Panama, Balboa PGK Papua New Guinea, Kina PHP Philippines, Pesos PKR Pakistan, Rupees PLN Poland, Zlotych PYG Paraguay, Guarani QAR Qatar, Rials RON Romania, New Lei RUB Russia, Rubles SAR Saudi Arabia, Riyals SCR Seychelles, Rupees SEK Sweden, Kronor SGD Singapore, Dollars SOS Somalia, Shillings SZL Swaziland, Emalangeni THB Thailand, Baht TRY Turkey, New Lira TTD Trinidad and Tobago, Dollars TWD Taiwan, New Dollars USD United States of America, Dollars VEF Venezuela, Bolivares Fuertes XAG Silver, Ounces XAU Gold, Ounces XPD Palladium Ounces XPT Platinum, Ounces YER Yemen, Rials ZAR South Africa, Rand How about a pair of 1976-D Type I & Type-II Ikes for a prize: Edited by Scooby Due 07/26/2010 08:59 am

In case anyone is interested, here is the check list. You can copy it into a spreadsheet, or print it out. Use a fixed width font or the lines may not all be aligned vertically.

I have to be honest Scooby, I've not used the check list format like that before, but I can see how it will help me sorting it out. It's more of a visual aid, especially after I add all sorts of colors to it. A good tool to add to my spreadsheet. Thanks.

You have me curious as to how you were going about it. Just goes to show there's more than one way to tackle it.

Thanks for that checklist, by the way. It may help anyone who might not have a spreadsheet.

Thanks for the checklist, after I played with it yesterday I would know how to play with out one. Also what is the final answer option?

You are allowed one guess from 12PM-12AM, and one guess from 12AM-12PM. If at any point you think you have the answer and you have already used your guess for that 12 hour window, you may post a "final answer". Careful though, because if you're wrong, you're done and can no longer play. So, right or wrong, it is your final answer.

Oh great, no sniping, there goes my main strategy.
As for my spreadsheet, I'll send you a copy later. I didn't bring my memory stick to work today so I need to start from scratch, or wait until I get home and get caught up. It is Monday morning so I'm preferring the latter.
It has a single list on one side I use for elimination strikes, and a couple of colors to show possibles and probables. The main portion of the sheet is the real work horse. I list all of the guesses made along with the response given. Above that is a place to type in my 'next guess'. The formulas check my 'next guess' against the previous guesses. If my entry conforms to all of the answers from the previous guesses, I show green. If not, I can immediately see which guesses contradict my 'next guess' and I can adjust accordingly. After all, the winning answer must conform to all of the previous guess answers.
I throw in a few colors here and there manually, just as you had bracketed in your tutorial. With my aging eyesight, the colors help.

rikcando, can you send me a copy of that too? I just want to see how you did all that in excel.

Once I get home tonight I'll upload it and post a link so everyone has the same advantage (or disadvantage). They keep changing the number of currencies and how many are required so I may just start a fresh one. If so, it may be earlier than tonight.

Speaking of which, I will be at work when the game begins, so bear with me and I will get to the guesses as soon as I can. I am going to trust you to start the game on your own at noon! See you all then!
