It doesn't show well in the photo (i don't have the nice microscope with the camera that he has!) so hopefully it shows it well enough. It may not show in the pictures, but its' a red/brown color, details look good. Any thoughts on the grade? Report this Post to the Staff

The relationship of the feathers to the letters in "AMERICA" is different than on this PCGS graded 1909-S: So the counterfeiter apparently used a Type I obverse (used from 1859-1886) as the model. DVCollector Bedrock of the Community United States 10045 Posts	Posted 07/30/2010 4:15 pm That's a very definite diagnostic; that obverse type did not exist after 1886. Something to also remember about 1909: individual dies were not dated--there is only one date position, as shown on the graded coin. Report this Post to the Staff
