I found this website:

http://www.pcfleet.com/Coinclub/Can..._1cent_1.htm

and it listed a lot of coins and said that some of them were different in multiple classes and were worth more. Now, it didn't go into detail what those differences were. I was wondering if someone can tell me if I have any of the desirable ones? :) Now, some of the backs look yucky, but they're really not (not sure why it looks bluish) Thanks all! I appreciate any and all help :D

I don't know much about Canadian coins, but the SCWC lists "with strap" and "without strap" varieties for your '54 (proof-like only) and '55 pennies (the variety without the strap being worth more). There are a few are good pictures for comparison in the Heritage Auction archives. The '53 nickel has four varieties that were discussed in a past link:

The greenish/blue color on the reverse of the pennies is likely due to oxidation. Similarly, the nickel looks to have some it's steel core exposed and is rusting.

Oh, in reference to the oxidation thing, it's actually from the sleeves the coins are in, I just give them a little rub, and they look beautiful :) The nickel, yeah, it has these black gunky dots on it that I'm sure I can remove, but am unsure if I should

I hope these links work.

No strap near maple leaf:

With strap far maple leaf:

The strap thing holds true with the pennies too. I honestly don't get the leaf thing.

Hmm both links take me to the same spot I think. But, I think I can distinguish the two now :) Thanks!

suvoth welcome to the forum I will be able to give you some more info in a little bit, but never rub, clean or anything else to any coins it ruins them, you may not be able to see it but under magnification you can really tell

I know :( But it was just from the packaging so I figured as long as I didn't rub hard and didn't use scratchy material it would be ok :( my bad
