Hi scoutjim99, I get Coin WOrld- and also CoinValues and in that publication, they only show the Wisc error -Low leaf and high leaf. Someone has come up with an extra tree in Minnesota- So I guess there will be others. I wasn't really concerned with these- but they were mentoned by susanlynn9 as to emphasize (I think) new errors. My post was simply making a point that errors have yielded a fantastic gain for the most part- and I gave a couple examples. The quarters hadn't entered my mind as I was concerned with price differences between 1961 and now- I keep several old guide books around- and they are quite fun to get into for comparisons sake--However some issues simply make no sense at all as to values that collectors will put on errors- Yet I do understnd that it is the demand for these items. Years ago, I purchased a 3legged
Buffalo nickel from a college student in Stockton California- for 10.00 - They didn't seem rare at the time because he had some of his sorority brothers helping him find these nickels- At our semi-monthly coin meetings, he rarely failed to show up with at least one. So with that in mind, none of us actually considered them a rarity. I have often thought that there must have been a pocket in our area where these nickels got released- (No I no longer have the 3 legged nickel- I traded it for something else at one of our club meetings. And so it goes- who knows what will turn out to be another error treasure.
