Um, Susan? I think PFlowers is talking about an American 1827 cent, not a British penny. In 1827, George IV was king of Great Britain - and I can't see anyone describing his hair as "flowing"... [:p]
In any event, PFlowers, to answer your question from the 2004 edition of the Krause world coin catalogue:
Britain 1 penny 1827: $175 in Fine, $1600 in EF. 1827 seems to be a scarce date for British pennies...
USA 1 cent 1827: $23 in Fine, $135 in EF. American collectors would have a better idea as to the current retail; itmay have changed since my book was made.
If you're having trouble guessing the grade, take a picture or scan and post it either here in this thread or in the "Coin Grading" part of the forum. That will let us pin down a value more reliably.

Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
