O.K. so how about givin this yank the low down on canadian steel cents. I don't know if the ones I have are worth anything or not. Have 2003, 2006, 2008. The 2006 has the crown under the queens bust. Will update tomorrow with what exactly I have. Just lookin for some input on this. Thanks much. WOLF

Hi Wolf:

Steel cents are really rare (probably not circulating) for 1999, 2000 and 2001; scarce for 2004, 2005, and 2006 without the mint logo; and common otherwise. I think yours are common, but definitely worth keeping to start a collection.

Zinc cents are rare for 2007; scarce for 2003 and 2009; and common otherwise. Apparently there are 2006-P and 2008 made of zinc, which would make them each a real rarity as well.

For 2002 and 2006 with the logo, both steel and zinc are found easily.

The jury is still out for 2010, but so far mint set examples are steel and circulating examples are zinc.

O.K. So none of the following are rare or scarce then. These are what I have.
2002 P
2003 p old bust
2003 P new bust
2006 crown or leaf below bust
2007 crown or leaf below bust
2008 crown or leaf below bust
All are steel and not zinc. WOLF

"crown or leaf below bust" is known as Logo or Mintmark here. Mainly it's Logo, I believe. I'm holding onto mags and releasing zincers - why I don't know. I seem to find less mags than zincs.
