Type 'coin dealers florence italy' into a Google search.... You will find at least three.

I had my 26th and 27th birthdays in Firenze. Although I was collecting ancients then, it never occurred to be to check out the coin dealers.

If you're into such things, there's a small Galileo "museum". It's more of a room, but in there, in a rather inauspicious glass case is supposed to be the telescope he used to discover Jupiter's moons. SO cool (if it really is - who knows - something about the place told me it was actually all correct).

Now the real reason for the post - a LOT of Florence is REALLY touristy. Watch out carefully for "tourist fakes" and other coins. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. But then again, you probably knew that! =)
