trespasser- I know just how you feel. I love coins of British India, but there is just not too much of a market over here in the States. So it may be hard to find dealers who sell higher-end pieces.

Vcoins has a couple of graded British India coins:

In my opinion the raw coins are probably a better deal. Higher grade coins can be found at sites like MA-Shops, DNE coins and ebay India:

snowman- Great links!

I just don't get why you can never find 19th & 20th century British Indian Rupees in the States. They had huge mintages and do not book that high at all when in circulated grades. Just weird.

I think that the low book value is why you don't see many of these coins graded. It is simply not worth the cost of sending them to a TGP.

As far as availability is concerned, I come across British India coins all the time when looking to add to my Afghani type set. Stephen Album is another good source. They are a reputable and knowledgeable seller, but their lists are a little dated and you have to ask for pictures on many of the coins:

hey I know you want graded coins but, when I went to India my grandparents have jars full of old coins from the 1700s to 1900s that they let me got through and take what ever I want. So I have quite abit of coins from the 19th century that I would trade. Most are silver, if you want to just pm me.

unnkown95- You really need to post some of the nicer coins in your lot on the forum. I think that we would all be interested in seeing them.

ok yeah il do that either today or tommorow. one question, taking close up pictures with my digital camera which is 10megapixels of coins doesn't work well. I tried to scan them, but then the coin is so small in the picture because the scan area is so big and the coin barely takes up any space, and I dont know how to increase the size of the coin with out losing the clarity. Can any one help me on this ?
