I'm well aware that this has been a widely forged coin, but even though I've been looking at this one for over thirty years, I'm still none the wiser.
Any opinions, grades?

I haven't yet worked out how to picture the edge, which is however pristine.
It is the overall condition of this piece that makes me suspect its authenticity. It's just too good.

The coin looks good to me, though granted I have seen many of these. Is the coin tin with a copper center with the date on the edge?

Absolutely. The date is crisp and clear, and that's probably what's making me nervous.

Is there any inscription besides the date on the edge?
