I never payed much attention to the circulation currency before I joined this forum...but from reading all your posting,it seems a lot of you do...I buy 10-13 thousand dollars worth of coins from the bank each week for my job...A month ago there was a lot of 1967 coins in my cash..I had never noticed those kind ever before...whole rolls of 2004 lucky loonies...etc...the lady at the bank told me some old coin collector died and the family just brought it all to the bank for cash...she even gave me tubes of half dollars...that I did look threw and found some worth keeping...So I guess....what I'm trying to say is ....if any of you are wanting something that might show up in coin from the bank...let me know and I will keep an eye open for you...

Hello Newbie and welcome to The Forum! Yes I am looking for a half dollar for the past 50 years to find, with no luck?
Check your rolls and see if you can locate a 1943 Canada half dollar. I realize your new at this Hobby, however, the coin in particular I would kill for is a 1943 "Near 3" half in MS-64/65. I've checked as far away as Europe and Australia to no avail.
Please let me know if you have one, I'll even drive down to your place to purchase it from you personally.

Cheers..................Glenn

Unbelievable.... They probably spent the money on cigarettes. How can anyone be so ignorant about the potential value of old coins? With the Internet and all...

Good for us I suppose. But just imagine your hard work and investments for all these years and then poooof >>> face value.

That's just brutal.

I was visiting my aunt and, she had remembered I collected coins and since none of her kids collected I made out alright. A lot of silver halves and gold too. She then said I could go threw the stuff she was just going to take to the bank- a 1953 5cent mule (only vf-ef) that would have been a shame.

That's a lot of coin Koin!
If you have the time, you might want to keep some of the customer rolled 5 cent rolls. They are nice to search for goodies.

sorry Glenn no 1943 half's...I'll talk to an uncle of mine...he's been collecting for 40 yrs or so...maybe he has one...he wants to move...I only bought 100 half's that day....she said she had 400 come in...but by now the bank has probably sent them in to where ever the bank sends money...who knows what treasures got dumped at the bank that day...maybe a really good one will come your way now that there back in circulation..
yes penny lover that is a lot of coin...where I work we never take money in... only pay it out to customers.. so we use alot...especially during a busy summer..in sask. it's all about recycling...
thanks for opening my eyes...I will be paying close attention to the penny's nickel's and dimes...in my cash from now on....
