I need a date too, but my wife would probably kill me; and my eyes are also shot. However this looks good to be 1/32 birr, which makes it EE1889. KM# 11. Mintage 3,353,000. Size & weight unavailable. F 4.00 VF 10.00 XF 20.00 UNC 60.00 As the denomination below the lion is legible, I'm assuming this was thesecond issue. Krause says that these were:"Struck at the Addis Ababa Mint in 1922, 1931 and 1933 from newly prepared dies having corrected denominations"
I'd have to second alganbagerap. 1. There were no coins issued with the date EE 1882. 2. The last symbol may look like "2" only because of the line on the top. But that would make the symbol bigger than its "fellows" and it requires another line on top. I believe it's upside down "A" (though looks more like "h") which makes it a 9.
