as to what this coin is?

I couldn't find anything on the web. Looks to be from 1742.

One side reads "spes mea in deo"

The other 5 S M O and on the bottom H.M.

Appreciate it.

I still can't find that search result but thank you very much for the ID. My moms uncle left her dozens of old foreign and American coins that I am trying to identify and sell for her (foreign coins first, until she's better on money)

You're welcome. I know it comes up with a 1731, but at least you know what is is now.

The mintage for 1742 is 825,000, according to Krause.
