Hello everyone, new member here, just wondering if anyone can help me, looking for a few bank roll boxes of 2010 pennys, nickels, dimes, quarters, every time I go in the bank and ask they look at me like I have two heads and tell me that they do not carry new coins. I live in ontario ny, near rochester. Just wondering if any of you might know of any banks that might carry new coin.
I hope I did not post this in the wrong area.
thank you so much
Dave

Most banks do not receive BU new coins, or at least in my area. I've gotten lucky a couple times now and got $1000 worth of dimes and $200 in pennies that are all 2010 BU in sealed boxes. Still waiting to come across any 09/10 boxes of nickels, I have the feeling I'll never get my hands on those. >.<
But yeah, try several banks. Most of the time you'll get told no. Now that I've built up a relationship with my tellers, I get the first phone call they make after the shipment comes in and it has BU coins. =P

I would open an account. Also I talk to the teller about anything I can think of. Your goal is to become good friends with a teller. They may even start saving coins for you that they think you will like. That's my trick and it ALWAYS pays off to be really nice!

Definitely make friends with tellers, but go ahead and ask banks you don't have an account at. If they have stuff, they'll usually sell you a roll or two without an issue. Smile, be cheerful - don't be demanding or creepy. It also helps to go in on off hours when they're bored like 2:30 on a Tuesday.

RollHunter - I agree completely. Especially with the off hours part. They are usualyly bored out of their minds when I stroll in and are eager to help me.

Try the branches inside of grocery stores - for some reason all the TCFs in the grocery stores around here have 2010 stuff. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, but it's worth a try. Grocery stores are a good source for Ikes too if you like those.
