I know most of the people on here think that quarter searching is dead as far as silver is concerned, but at my work over the past 7 months or so I have found 5 silver American quarters and 2 Canadian (1950 and 1952) quarters. Just today as a man was digging for change I heard the distinct sound of silver, but didn't know if it was just a canadian quarter and my imagination messing with my head. He dropped 75 cents in my hand. Now normally I'd check to see if the change was right or if any of the coins were non silver canadian and sometimes ask for a different coin if it was canadian because people hate getting "funny money" back in their change. I didn't even look, I threw the coins he gave me in the extra slot of the cash register very quietly so the noise wouldn't be heard again. I put all the coins I get from customers in that area until I have time to check them for goodies. I checked once he left, and sure enough a 1963 D silver Washington quarter. I have found a 57, 61D, two 62D, and a 63D my girlfriend found a 64 but won't let me have it lol I think I am going to search a few boxes of quarters here and there to see what happens, does anyone still do this, and if so do you have any luck at all? I'll post whatever I find when I grab a box tomorrow.

the bank I go to gets brinks boxes and sometimes they have clear wrappers Even if they don't have clear wrappers I have noticed going through the rolls at my work (in the safe) that quarters are very fast and easy to reroll and search. I will not be looking for error State Quarters for the first few boxes because I could care less right now but maybe I will get lucky.

I buy 10 rolls every week. I have only found 1 1964 in 6 months. I only buy them to switch things up. I enjoy roll searching every coin type even if I find nothing. I also only search crr. Who knows... One day I might hit it big.

I did two boxes this year and I get maybe 5-10 rolls every few weeks. I've pulled two canadians and that's it. No silver. The only silver quarter I've found in "circulation" was in a hand wrapped roll my mother in law was going to deposit at the bank (very toned 1945).
I have a personal goal of building a basic 20th century type set from circulation, but I think the shear number of quarters I'll have to search to get an SLQ or a barber will make it nearly impossible. Still gonna try anyway!

the only reason I never searched quarters before is I will take 500 out of my account which means I probably won't get any other coins out because my girl will get mad if I have that much money just laying around. Going to get some now.....fingers crossed

ok so now I think something is going on At work tonight I got to my register and inside of it was another 1963 D silver quarter I think a bank must have some or something that someone returned and they are distributing them to the public. Tomorrow I am going to all the banks around my work to try and find the silver source wish me luck if nothing else I got 2 silver quarters in 2 days at face value

Good luck slash. All my attempts at searching through boxes of quarters ended with no success. Just a whole lot of Statehood Quarters, they make up like 75% of the boxes for me. Went through quite a few boxes and got no silver at all, figured I would just stick with halves and nicks.

Earlier this week I pulled a 1929 liberty quarter out of a brinks box. It was the first Liberty I have gotten from non customer roll. Today I went through 5 boxes and pulled out 4 silver quarters.

I found a 1952 Wash. in one of my registers yesterday. I only find a silver quarter about every 2 or 3 months. Dimes are more frequent (but not too frequent.)

On a rare occassion you can find a silver quarter. I got a 1964 silver quarter from a tellers coin holder a few days ago. Don't forget to look at the State Quarters as well. You can still find choice bu quarters in circulation if you are looking for them. Best wishes on your search! Sincerely, John Leckrone
