I am from Oz, but Sydney, not Perth. In Perth, they have an Aussie Rules football team, in the national competition. It is known as the West Coast Eagles (WCE). Unfortunately, I don't think Mexico had much to do with Australian Rules Football!

People added letters to coins for various reasons. Advertising was a primary cause.

In this case, SOMETHING with the initials W.C.E was Instituted on September 21, 1841. What WCE was is anyone's guess.

Thank for "sel 691" and "swamperbob".I think the "wce" is like those marks that on the spain and mexican coins that circulationg in the china in the 18th--19th century .
