Here's an interesting one for my American friends:
The Melbourne Mint in 1959 struck struck 3 1/2 million .500 silver florins for circulation. After the production run for business strikes was completed, a flaw was found in the master hub, where it looked like the emu had laid an egg. All of the circulation coins are error coins.
After all of the circulation coins were struck, the master hub was fixed and 1506 proof florins were produced off a proof die.
