pyrbob Rest in Peace United States 1943 Posts	Posted 08/15/2010 06:21 am This is struck thru grease. The lines you see are on the planchet before striking. Over polishing affects the high parts of a die which is the field. As the field is removed the shallower recesses in the die start to diappear. The bridge of the nose is one spot you will see this. If it were a weak strike you won't have a strong rim. Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 08/15/2010 08:48 am Sruck through grease. Rim is strong and present. Impossible to polish the coin and leave the rims in tact. The grease prevented the dies devices to be filled.
