These are circulating coins which circulated in big quantities. Their value is almost nothing.

Depicted is the goddess Ceres. After WW II and the painful King's plebiscite, which forced Leopold III to abdicate, it was chosen not to place a monarchs' face on coins. That's why the goddess Ceres (goddess of agriculture) was chosen for the 1 and 5 francs. A miner was put on the 20 and 50 centimes. It was not before 1969 that Baudouin's effigy appeared on a circulating coin (the nickel 10 francs)

Hi bart, according to Krause some of these coins exist in medal alignment.
I have never found one. Did they exist in circulation or only in mint sets.

I have no idea. I have also see them mentioned in catalogs, but have never seen one.

They are certainly not related to the Mint sets, as the medallic coins are mentioned with dates far before the first issue of a mint set (1970)
