I believe this is y-23, but have no idea otherwise. It's red-lusterous, and I dont do Oriental. How about year, grade & value. I'll be getting rid of it. thanks a '52 I think

Yep, it's a KM/Y# 73. The year isn't completely clear, but I think it's Year 27 (1952). Can you confirm that the rim is reeded rather than plain?

Value depends on whether or not it really is Unc. CV is $40 in Unc, but only 35 cents in EF.

Japan. p. 540 in my edition of Krause. These are far from rare; even in the lowest-denomination year, 1958, 25 million were produced.
