I'm only a coin collector, I don't know squat about these. A friend of mine found these while clearing out a deceased friends estate and asked me to get more information and approximate values for the following.

Thanks!

I don't know a lot about values, but the $10 bill, my dealer sell for about $30, and the 1923 large not, if crisp, would be over $100.

I found this on the $3 bill http://www.allensinc.com/coins/curr...te/mib16.htm. His looks to be in great condition and is being sold for $75.

I bought a fifty like that one about 8 years ago for $50. I might have been taken on it but I don't think so.

The first note is an 1864 issue:

http://www.csanotes.com/1864_notes.htm

Scroll down to "T-68, Cr546, PF20". The second note is "T-66, Cr495, PF1" near the top.

As far as the last note, I do know that railroads had a difficult time borrowing money from banks, so to raise capital they sold certificates similar to bonds. Like other industries of the day, the railroads issued scrip as payment to its workers as well.

I'm not much into paper, but condition is everything when it comes to value, unless the item is extremely rare.

FWIW, for someone putting together a "low ball registry set" notes 1 and 4 would be "very valuable". Same as in coins some are putting together such "currency sets".

Peace

Thanks folks! :)

I took these to a local dealer last night. He said the $1 note was AU-50 and he'd pay $50 for it. He was not interested in the other notes.

This is good enough info for me because my friend is not interested in selling. Apparently these have some family history and they want to pass them on.
