Is a New Brunswick Cent Canadian or British? I have an 1861 in very nice condition, but I'm confused about one cent being british, but it has Britt right on it.

New Brunswick is a province in Canada. 1861 is pre-confederation (1867), but the coin can be included with Canada.

Britt is part of the royal title. Victoria D G Britt Reg F D means Victoria by the grace of God Queen of Britain Deender of the Faith. New Brunswick was a British Colony at that point, as was the Province of Canada (Canada West-Ontario and Canada East-Quebec). New Brunswick joined the Province of Canada and Nova Scotia (another British Colony) to form the Dominion of Canada in 1867.
