Hi, I would like your opinions and comments on this coins grade and I have a question .. I use the Krause SCWC from 2009 and notice that for most the prices listed start with UNC but that for a others it gives prices for a coin in the BU category. If these categories correspond to the difference between a MS60 and say a MS69 graded coin, then why isn't there a pricing difference shown for all coins? Just this books standard that a coin shows no visible sign of wear or handling even under a 30 power microscope to be considered Uncirculated an extremely high hurdle to pass; now personal interpretation comes into play with mint luster and bag marks to pass as BU? What a game this is!

If I've ever dealt with opinionated people, its the people on this site. And I do mean this in the best possible way!

I have two concerns with this coin, one is the marks on the rim of the reverse. I'm wondering how marks on the rim effect grading, are they even taken into consideration? The second is the darkness at the center of the reverse. Is that enough to take it out of the realm of full luster?

well I am no expert by any stretch but if you read what BU is supposed to mean (and opinions vary as was pointed out), the marks on the rim and the darkening do 'detract' so you couldn't call this BU. However, that said, if you don't want this coin I would be happy to send you my addy. I have a special spot for it right next to it's bigger and cheaper brother (KM2) LOL

very nice coin indeed!
