Background is, my father bought this coin in the states in the 70's and got it fit into the yewellery holder with a chain, he gave that as a gift to my mother, In 2007, just before his death they gave that to my wife as a gift.Looking at the coin it looks real, it seems that the collar was just pressed on, so I doubt if there will be damage to the coin, there is no soldering or any other mechanism used to hold the coin other than the collar.
From what I could find, if there is no mint mark, this means this was made in Phylladelphia, and these are fairly common.

Value is then not a lot based on that. Obviously the origin and history around the coin has an imense lot of value both to me and my wife, but would still like to know what grade to put this at.
Will this be a XF?
Still battling with doing grading
I think this is one of my favourite US Coin designs.
Thanks Forum

Appears a solid EF45 (XF45). One of the more common Morgan dates. Sentimental value will far outweigh monetary value.
