What is the value of this collection?
67 Wheat Pennies... 1912,1919,2-20,28,2-29,36,3-37,3-39,40,3-41,2-42,8-44,2-45,5-46,3-47,48,49,2-50,51,8-52,3-53,2-55,6-56,4-57,58 (For 36-54 set Missing 38,43,54)
67 cents face value, 3 dollars book value or is it more because it is almost a complete 'last 25 years' set?
Also if I have 50 pounds of pennies and I estimate at leaste 1/2 are before 1982, should I bring them to the bank for cash, or sell them to a collector? Figure they are about $80 face value - Are they worth more to a collector? All the wheats are from this lot.

Do NOT take them to the bank! Why not keep them and start collecting them yourself? Not many people have family that were or are collectors. If you have to, sell the wheats to a collector or sell them on ebay as a lot or by roll

what are the odds that ALL 67 wheats are from Phillidelphia, and none are from Denver OR San Francisco? Any mint marks in the group? that could increase the value a bit!

All common dates. If they are average circulated grades, not a highly valuable collection. You may have some varieties in that 50LB. batch. I would offer them for sale here once you reach the required # of posts.

WELCOME TO THE FORUMMMMMMMMMM. Sure wish we had one of those little things that said that here. For a start you should be carefull using that term PENNIES. Not always, but way to often you get a person that starts yelling about those things being CENTS, not PENNIES. Although possibly 99% of the country says Pennies, some still try to correct the masses. So back to your pennies. If you have the time you may want to acquire a book called the Red Book by Whitman Publishing. There you could look up those Pennies and possibly find one or more that are worth a small fortune. Many think that if a penny is not old it is not worth much but there are some that are really valuable. And as to those prior to the more modern ones, there are many of those too that could go undetected as valuable. There are a few web sites that specialize in the Lincoln Cent. For example the Lincoln Cent Resourse web site or really find many oddities on https://www.coppercoins.com

I found more wheats...
91 Wheat Cents... Includes nine 1943 steel cents. 1912,1919,2-20,28,3-29,35,36,3-37,4-39,40,8-41,2-42,9-43(Steel),10-44,4-45,6-46,3-47,48,49,4-50,51,8-52,3-53,2-55,6-56,4-57,58 (For 35-54 set Missing 38,54)
Figure I am up to about a $4.75 value
I kept the wheats, the rest went to the bank. Along with a handfull of change off my dresser, it went for $80.48

Oh man I wouldn't have cashed that in for face value. Big mistake. There could have been errors, varieties, etc. in there worth more than face. Wow. You could have gotten perhaps twice that amount with a collector.

And so another pile of possibly rare coins hits the circulation system. Imagine someone opening roll and there is that 1972 Double Die in MS grade. A 55 Double Die? Hand full of 95 Double Dies? Offsets, rotated reverses, a 59 Wheat cent, etc., etc., etc. And all from that 50 pounds. AAAHHHHHHHHHHHhhh.
