Use-Of-Genuine-AccessoriesEnded up getting a new digital Canon powershot for coin photography. After settting it up on my tripod experimenting the pictures are starting to come out pretty good in macro mode. The batteries only last a day or two so I wanted to buy the power cord separately. Looking on the bay they start at $40.00 to $60.00 but I'm also finding more affordable non-genuine ones anywhere from $5.00 to $20.00 I'm looking for an ACK800 and/or CA-PS800 power cord/adapter for a powershot SX120 IS, however the world of power cords and adapters is a mystery to me and the cheaper ones look different from the genuine ones. Anyone know if the cheaper ones will work just as good as the genuine one?

I have a PowerShot 110SX I recently purchased. The AC adapter model is the same as the one you will be using. I went to ebay for a AC adapter and found one for $9.00 It is coming in the mail very soon. When it does come in I'll let you know how it works.

I've successfully used aftermarket chargers, adapters and batteries with my Canons. In fairness, though, your mileage might vary.

Spent about $13 on some rechargeable batteries instead. They came with their own charger to. Now I can carry the cam around and since it only takes two batteries I'll always have two backup batteries ready to go!
