This is another note found. I have looked this up and found contrasting values? Thank you all for your welcoming words :)I have started to do some research on the coins in the Whitman books and I am trying to get them uploaded.

Yours is listed in the SCWPM as #8b (fractional letter-number prefix). VG 7.50; VF 40.00; Unc 325. I'm afraid I'd peg yours at around 3 Dollars.

where is the number prefix on these notes?

The serial number here is 35901, so the letter 'M' over a number '1' is known as a fractional (letter-number) prefix. If it came after the serial number it would be a suffix.
If you look at any of your dollar bills you'll see that they have a one or two-letter prefix before the serial # and a one-letter or '*' suffix after.
