Please grade this dime. This came from an original unopened bank roll. I am considering sending in in for grading.

I am getting the feeling that my opinion does not mean much on this site.

But would like to let you know what I see.

From looking at the price guides, I think you would have to get to at least MS-68, for it to be worth sending it in, well maybe a MS-67. I think MS-67 grade could put it in the $60+ range .. MS-68 much more.

As for the grade of your coin, I am seeing something going on in three areas. On the obverse at "LI" in liberty and maybe something in the cheek area. On the reverse, on the "UNI" in united. Not sure what it is, maybe just lighting or luster may not be a heavy as on the rest of the coin. Also from the pic I can not tell if the band on the bottom of the torch shows the split details. Not sure how that detail may or may not impact the grade. Of course this is just what I am seeing, I know you can tell more, with the coin in hand. just giving you what I see .. so you can judge for yourself.

IMO .. if those areas I mentioned don't look like something to be concerned with .. then I agree this coin could go at least MS-66 .. maybe higher.

I do appreciate the input. In hand, the luster is uniform and awesome. The spots mentions are a result of my poor photography which I am trying to perfect. I also agree that the only way it would really make sense to send it in is if it has a chance at a MS68 which in hand, it looks like a possibility.

Nice piece! Would have to see it from more angles to tell, but it certainly looks like a high MS. The mars on "LI" seem to be very shallow. Does have a real stunning "frostiness." I would not rule out the possibility of it going MS68, based on what I see...

A high MS, but again, I shy away from taking anything much past MS65. I just can't tell the difference between 66 and say 67 all that much. Again believing that many of those grades are reserved for trophy coins or they depend on who is sending them in. I'm like Goldrush58 and just look at the moderns saying is it worth it to send it in unless it is a significant value to begin with and I bought it right. IMO
