I am finally in the market to buy a 1909-S cent!

Can anyone direct me to, or post, a picture showing the different S mintmark varieties on the 1909-S cent? I need it so that I can compare pictures of the ones for sale to pictures of genuine coins.

I've seen a b&w picture on this forum showing four different mm varieties on the 1909-S VDB cent. I don't know if these are the same dies used on the 1909-S cent or not, but something like this would be helpful.

I've done some searching, and it's hard to find anything.

Thank you so much!

Since they made about 4 1/2 times as many 09-S cents than SVDB's I would expect there to be around four times as many obverses used (some may have been used on both) so there are probably around 16 different obv dies. While I'm sure the ANA had a photo file on all of them back when they owned ANACS, from what I understand it is no longer easily accessible. (When they sold ANACS the photo files did NOT go with it.)

Was kind of difficult to figure out if your talking about a Lincoln Cent of Indian Head cent since both have a 1909S.
And there are two forums here for Classic and Modern Coins. Lincolns are usually in the Modern area.
Regardless if you want to find out much more about a specific Lincoln Cent you could try https://www.coppercoins.com The guy from that site has a few books out on just that coin and has photographed many, many thousands of just that coin.
Here is what mine looks like. Lousy photo though.

I have one for sale now on the dreaded internet auction site. I will certainly guarantee it to be genuine.

I would be offering it for sale here on the forum, but sadly I am "post-challenged".

I have one that appeared to be funny looking for the MM. So I showed it to a dealer I know that really kno .s. He said your lucky. That is the S over Horizontal S. I looked in the Red Book and a copy of "Looking through Lincoln Cents" and it was briefly explained. I think they are all a little nutty when it comes to stuff like that but if it is, one more thing for you to look for.
