southerngent Valued Member United States 469 Posts	Posted 08/21/2010 9:00 pm I don't know if this is being posted in the correct area but I have a feeling that this could be some king of US soldiers medal from the Vietnam War. I have never seen anything quite like it. The front and back are basically the same. Would love to know what it really is. Report this Post to the Staff

If I understand the jargon correctly, "EOM" stands for "enlisted open mess". There are hundreds of different types of US-Vietnam military canteen tokens, most of which are relatively common. Here's an example from eBay, of the same token but without the hole, that sold for $7. Used in the MANY Mess clubs in South Vietnam during 1965 - 1970 ( When they were Banned ! ) They were actually used in the MANY Slot Machines in the Clubs !
