I don't know if this is being posted in the correct area but I have a feeling that this could be some king of US soldiers medal from the Vietnam War. I have never seen anything quite like it. The front and back are basically the same. Would love to know what it really is.

It's a canteen token, used for pinball machines and to purchase refreshments from the facilities. If I understand the jargon correctly, "EOM" stands for "enlisted open mess".

There are hundreds of different types of US-Vietnam military canteen tokens, most of which are relatively common. Here's an example from eBay, of the same token but without the hole, that sold for $7.

Actually .......

This is a Vietnam Military Mess Club token ! Used in the MANY Mess clubs

in South Vietnam during 1965 - 1970 ( When they were Banned ! ) They were

actually used in the MANY Slot Machines in the Clubs ! Usually the "Chits" were

used for drinks / snacks / Etc. Hope this helps ? ? ?
